governance

“We have come to discover what we suspect is a new political mindset emerging among a younger generation of political leaders socialized on Internet communications. Their politics are less about right versus left and more about centralized and authoritarian versus distributed and collaborative.”

― Jeremy Rifkin, The The Third Industrial Revolution: How Lateral Power Is Transforming Energy, the Economy, and the World

Secure. Decentralized. Scalable.

Telos is a governed blockchain based on the EOSIO software. Like all DPOS (delegated proof of stake) chains, Telos has default governance built in to its structure. After observing other DPOS networks, the Telos founders decided to implement safeguards to help build a network like no other. The result was the most technologically advanced governing blockchain system on the market.

Because of its governance structure, the Telos blockchain is a decentralized, trustless system, without chaos. Telos is particularly stable because approving referendum requires a significant amount of token holders to approve a motion in order for any new initiatives or significant code changes to pass.

This system allows those who have a vested interest in the chain to have a voice and campaign for the changes they believe will be the most beneficial to the Telos ecosystem.

Telos Governance Documents

Listed below is detailed documentation of the operating structures of the Telos blockchain, including the network operating agreement, how to ratify or amend the governance documents, block producers and arbitrator requirements. The definitions, rules, and procedures of Telos governance are contained in six documents that are recorded on-chain and modifiable by community vote (pro rata by TLOS token ownership). These documents are included below as a community service of one of the founding and top 21 block producers, Telos Miami, developer of the Sqrl Wallet.  The coding on tbnoa.org allows for viewing of all Telos Network Governance Documents which pulls directly from what has been recorded on the blockchain, and will update automatically as changes are made through any passing referendums.
